Age range is open, young and old, male and female students, by far most are retired and have time to dedicate to lei making. We also accept outer island students, recently we had a student from Montana, North Pole Alaska, California, Island of Oahu.
Last summer at the County Fair our students had 14 blue ribbons for their work, Art Maui has accepted another artists work Marianne Vasquez with 2 lei hulu.
Each class is a mixed class of lei kamoe, lei poepoe, lei humu papa and other contemporary lei of Maui Gold Pineapple, Lei Lokelani, Lei Okole oeoe and lei Maunaloa. Kahili are also created in private class.
Feather choices are endless. Natural feathers of duck, peacock, pheasant, black francolin, khalij pheasant, chinese golden, lady amhurst, rooster saddle/hackle and more.
